I have been living in my house in Beverly Hills for over two years now. One of the many reasons I chose this home was for it’s incredible living room. In Beverly Hills, it is typical to find smaller houses or apartments that were built in the 1920s or 1930s which are a bit small, but with a lot of character. I happened to luck out when I found this gem, because it was a newly renovated 1930s Spanish style home with ample living space and a lot of light. The living room is what sold me, from its large floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the tree-lined Beverly Hills side street, the wood-burning fireplace, the vintage crown moldings, to the 20′ high ceilings with retractable skylights.
When I initially moved in, I put the living room furniture I had in my last home in the room, because it was only a few years old. Although it was in immaculate condition and fit the style of the home, it did not fit the space. The living room is quite large and needed bigger scale pieces to really fill the room up. So, after two years I decided to donate the furniture and start fresh.
I wanted to update the style a little bit to match my evolving taste. I have been recently drawn to modern rustic decor, and had a specific vision of how I wanted the living room to look.
I was yearning for a large off-white sectional sofa accented with reclaimed wood pieces, and a large area rug to warm the space up. I love neutral color rooms that utilize different textures to mix up the monotone. In my case, I played with mostly different shades of white, beige, and brown, from the throw pillows to the side accent chairs and the large square coffee table.
I designed the room myself, with the help of Joss & Main furniture and accessories. You can actually shop the items I chose and more on the Joss & Main website here, and I have also included links below as well! What I love about J&M is that it’s super chic, but also super affordable. The price points are approachable and quality is top-notch.
Below is the final product of my newly redesigned living room in Beverly Hills. Thank you to Joss & Main for sponsoring my living room update.
