The Spady Cultural Heritage Museum in Delray Beach will welcome families to Kuumba Village (“formerly Make-A-Gift Village”) to celebrate the holidays by making their own gifts and enjoying live music, art activities, storytelling for children, and food on December 26. The Kuumba Village will be held beginning at 2:30 p.m. outside on the museum grounds.

Continuing a tradition established in 2020, Kuumba Village will be held in conjunction with the museum’s annual Kwanzaa Celebration.

Kwanzaa Celebration at Spady Cultural Heritage Museum 1

Kwanzaa is a week-long celebration held in the United States and other nations of the African diaspora in the Americas to honor African heritage in African-American culture. It is observed from December 26 to January 1, culminating in gift-giving and a feast. Learn more about Kwanzaa here. The Spady Museum will condense the week-long celebration into an afternoon of community observation.

The Kwanzaa Celebration is hosted by Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. Delray Beach Chapter, in partnership with Sanfoka Study Group and Pyramid Books. Masks are required, and social distancing will be practiced.
