NOA Boutique Hotel Review: Waterfront Luxury in Northern Spain

From the privileged waterfront location to the expertly designed modern rooms and delicious cuisine, I enjoyed everything about my recent stay at NOA Boutique Hotel located in Oleiros, A Coruña – the richest municipality in all of Galicia. Here in northern Spain, relaxation, wellness, gastronomy, and environmental care are combined at NOA, along with personalized service and attention to detail to enhance your experience. Despite this luxury boutique hotel’s cosmopolitan spirit, its Galician identity is always present too.
The NOA Boutique Hotel is comprised of 32 rooms, including 4 suites, all distributed across 3 floors where every room has a terrace facing the sea. We stayed in a Superior Junior Suite, a very spacious room on the second floor, divided into a living room and bedroom. The suite’s minimalist, modern open-space design by Sinaldaba Studio gives all the focus to the sea views through its floor-to-ceiling glass windows.

I couldn’t believe just how special it was waking up to sparkling views of A Coruña Bay and the Castle of Santa Cruz. Along with the castle, there are many historical and cultural places to visit near NOA Boutique Hotel such as the Mera Lighthouse and A Coruña city. I’d also recommend Bastiagueiro and Santa Cristina Beaches, as well as any of the Estrella Galicia beer cellars. Fortunately, the expert team at NOA are happy to arrange private excursions to any of these places for you!
However, I have to share more about our incredible suite at NOA Boutique Hotel, where the bathroom is probably the most beautiful and impressive feature. It’s connected to the bedroom in a single space where the glass bathtub box is the jewel in the crown, so you’re able to still enjoy the views even while taking a relaxing bath. If that’s not luxury, I don’t know what is!
As far as NOA’s room amenities, you can expect a plush king size bed, minibar, coffee maker, and two TVs (fun fact: one of them is hard to find, it’s built into the bed and slides out with a remote control!). The bedsheets are made of 100% Egyptian cotton in optical white by Bassols, and they also have a pillow menu where you can choose your favorite pillow according to height and softness. It’s details like this that really set NOA apart from other boutique hotels.
During my stay, I learned that NOA’s Wellness Club offers in-room massage services so I jumped at the opportunity to enjoy a spa treatment while admiring the views from my suite. My 1-hour “Relaxing” massage was just what I needed to recover from my travels. NOA also has a fully equipped gym where they offer private yoga classes.
As far as sustainability, NOA is committed to being environmentally conscious in many ways. For example, they have a smaller number of rooms for less environmental impact in the Santa Cruz area, along with using geothermal energy and making their amenities more sustainable by formulating their own 100% natural, biodegradable products and refillable containers instead of single-use products.
I must point out too that right next to the reception is a small shop where NOA promotes the creations of local artists and designers. You can buy all of these art pieces and products on their e-store as well. A couple other notable aspects of NOA is that they are a pet-friendly hotel, and they have a great event space where you can hold company gatherings, meetings, and private parties.
As far as food, NOA Boutique Hotel has not one, but two restaurants with five-star service and the finest Galician cuisine. NOA Gastro Lounge is the creative space of Executive Chef David Sánchez and Chef Víctor Fernández where they combine the traditional Galician seafood with techniques that enhance flavors such as grilling, embers and direct fire. Recently, NOA Gastro Lounge was named the best luxury hotel restaurant in southern Europe at the World Luxury Awards!
Their second foodie paradise, Taberna NOA,  is a great place to enjoy “signature snacks” with excellent tapas made with top quality, local products. They also have a wonderful terrace overlooking the sea where you can enjoy handcrafted cocktails created by NOA’s master mixologist – Marco Martínez.
But the deliciousness does not end there, I loved ordering breakfast to my suite at NOA. They have an extensive room service menu which includes the absolute best of a European continental breakfast. From detoxifying smoothies and seasonal fruits to delicious toasts and freshly baked pastries, I loved starting the day with a hearty breakfast while overlooking gorgeous views from my room.
Speaking of views, a stay at NOA isn’t complete without visiting the rooftop terrace, the hotel’s undisputed gem. From their infinity pool or jacuzzi, you can enjoy 360º views, along with peace and relaxation. Thankfully, this space is open all year round.
NOA Boutique Hotel offers the best of both worlds – contemporary luxury with traditional Galician aspects and a five-star location right on the water! Next time you visit Spain, be sure to head north and treat yourself to hotel stay at NOA.
