The Kenzo FROW Was Almost As Entertaining As The Show

A new era for the Japanese fashion house, KENZO‘s first collection under the creative direction of Nigo was presented in Paris this weekend.

An event attended by a host of Nigo’s celebrity friends, the front row was occupied by celebrities such as Tyler, The Creator, Pharrell, and J Balvin.  Watching the host of famous faces link-up was almost as captivating as seeing how the BAPE founder was going to put his own spin on the Kenzo brand.

Vibing on the front row to a soundtrack that included an unreleased Pusha T song from Nigo’s upcoming album, cameras were on the attendees of the show just as much as they were as there were on the models who were walking the runway. Peculiarly, the Japanese designer was also one of those on the front row, choosing to join his friends seated on the side of the runway to watch the clothes he had designed come past.

While it would be normal for designers to be in the middle of a hectic fit of last-minute checks and preparations before models enter the runway, his chilled-out persona on the sidelines was the opposite of that.

It was inevitable that Ye and Julia Fox would dominate the celebrity headlines around the show. Both wearing a Canadian tuxedo comprised of light blue jeans and a denim jacket, the internet’s most spoken about couple took a break from their all-black uniform. However, everyone who attended the event showed up in their finest fabrics and these are some of our favorite looks.

Entire Studios‘ signature oversized puffer jackets continue to be the outerwear of the moment. Only a week after Kendall Jenner wore the style while snowboarding, Bloody Osiris is rocking the jacket in the “rust” colorway.

Paired with a flannel-print jacket, blue sweatpants, and platform boots, the stylist once again proved his ability to pull off a fit.

Tyler might have given us a look at the latest product to come from his GOLF le FLEUR* label with this outfit. Wearing a leather jacket with the brand’s name written across the front and the title of his latest album “Call Me If You Get Lost” on the back, there are rumors that the piece is part of a Schott collaboration he has lined up.

Just as Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears did in 2001, Ye and Julia Fox have made the headlines with matching double denim looks. Fox was wearing Daniel Roseberry’s jeans which she claims he took off and lent to her at the Schiaparelli showroom just before the show.

Meanwhile, Ye paired his double denim ensemble with the black knee-high Redwing boots that we have become accustomed to seeing him wear along with black sunglasses and gloves.

In the era of celebrity fashion designers, Nigo is an example of someone so important to the culture that his popularity makes him a famous figure. For his first show at the helm of Kenzo, he wore his latest designs in a casual outfit typical of the designer.

Unfortunately, if you want to shop the sunglasses that Pharrell wore to this show you’re going to have to wait a bit. The musician was wearing his upcoming collaboration with Tiffany which he was stiff-lipped about when pressed for details.

However, you can replicate his look with the products below.
