I personally find it quite difficult to figure out what I actually want for Christmas. In fact, I tend to focus too much on what I need, rather than what I want, and it’s not until the last second that I usually come up with ideas. But not this year. 2020 has been one hell of a year and I’ve made it my mission to dream big. I’ve searched everywhere, obviously from the comfort of my house, to come up with a list of items that are worthy of a 2020 Christmas Wish List.

Fornasetti

Being obsessed with interior design and contemporary art, I consider Fornasetti, helmed by renowned Italian artist Piero Fornasetti, a mecca for inimitable objects that go beyond their function. The new Metafisica Otto scented candle will be a great addition to my home.

Rodarte

I don’t think there’s anything quite as exciting as sequin embroidery, and this Rodarte floral double- breasted blazer is the perfect statement piece for just about any celebration.

Dior

I don’t think I can say it loudly enough: I can’t wait to travel again. Also, I want to do it with a DiorTravel Vanity Case embroidered with the blue Toile de Jouy motif.

Chloé

While I don't really need a specific reason to want an effortlessly chic Chloé Faye, the small shoulder bag in smooth and suede calfskin comes in pastel mint green, which is the unofficial colour of the year and a personal favourite.

Shinola

2020 was a great year for my vinyl collection and it’s about time I put my hands on the handcrafted rose gold Shinola Runwell turntable.

Bottega Veneta

I’ve been thinking about this egg yolk orange Bottega Veneta teddy shearling coat ever since I first saw it on the runway a few months ago. There’s no question that it will be a timeless addition to my winter wardrobe and a must in my 2020 Christmas wish list.

Delfina Delettrez

I’m all on board with the eye mania trend and I’ve been dreaming to wear this Delfina Delettrez 18kt champagne gold “Eyes on me” diamond and sapphire earring.

New York Fashion Week just happened and some of our favourite designers like Oscar de la Renta, The Row, Brendon Maxwell, Tom Ford and more showed off some standout collections for Fall 2020. In case you missed it, here's your ultimate one-stop-shop look at some of the best shows.

Marc Jacobs

Marc Jacobs did not disappoint with his show at the Park Avenue Armory. Inspired by American icons like Jackie O, Jacobs presented a collection that was filled with clean and simple cuts. A-line dresses accented with preppy collars and oversized coats paired with Mary Jane shoes arrived with bold colours like red, silver, yellow and more. Miley Cyrus then walked for the designer in a simple black bra and pants.

Prabal Gurung

Nepalese-American fashion designer Prabal Gurung took to the Rainbow Room in Rockefeller Center to present a dreamy and elegant collection. When one thinks of New York City style, the immediate thought is all-black, but not for Gurung. He presented a collection of eccentric eveningwear that was fused with prints, bold colours and sensuality.

Rodarte

Sisters Laura and Kate Mulleavy of Rodarte presented a gothic yet dark and romantic collection at St. Bartholomew’s Church on Park Avenue. Pulling references from 1992's Dracula, the duo re-imagined the Rodarte girl with a more goth aesthetic. Dark lips, black fringe, and cape-like looks added to the appeal of the theme while maintaining a wearable touch. The collection also saw the brand's signature looks, from wide collars, intricate beading, florals, and ruffles to complete the range.

The Row

Oversized, minimalistic, effortless and chic are just a few words that can be used to describe The Row. For Fall 2020, twins Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen presented a collection that proved that they are fashion veterans. Sticking to what they know best, the looks saw oversized pants, coats, blazers, layered looks, turtlenecks, oversized clutches and more. The colour palette stayed true to their brand ethos, kept at tonal and monochrome, with added pops of cobalt and brown accent detailing.

Brandon Maxwell

Taking to the American Museum of Natural History in New York, Brandon Maxwell presented his vision of Americana fashion. A bevy of tailored outwear, suits, biker jackets, leather pants and more appeared on the runway. In addition, he also presented a range of eveningwear that was completed with bandeau tops and exaggerated bows at the neck.

Tom Ford

Now fashion week did not start in New York. Instead, Tom Ford unveiled his fall 2020 collection at Milk Studios in Los Angeles California. The collection that consisted of 52 men’s and women’s ready-to-wear looks saw denim ensembles,  psychedelic prints, tailored suits, evening gowns. The final look was a completely laced wedding dress to close the show.

Rodarte channels Winona Ryder’s character in the Bram Stoker’s Dracula film of 1992 – dark matte lips in plum black with lip liners used to accentuate the cupid’s bow with precision. The face makeup was kept light with creamy porcelain complexion to contrast the deep lips.

Oscar de la Renta Neon Lips

The beauty look on Oscar de la Renta’s runway can be summed up by vivid poppy lips. The fluorescent red/orange lips are bold and glossy. Makeup artist Tom Pecheux explains “I was trying to create a colour that – to my eyes – work on every girl and every skin tone. I also wanted something really powerful to fit everyone”.

Anna Sui Punk Rock Glam

Exaggerated metallic eye shadows ruled the Anna Sui runway with dramatic emeralds greens with dramatic lashes. For the lips, makeup artist Pat McGrath chose a deep eggplant to complete the look.

Proenza Schouler stuck with the concept “less is more” when it came to this year’s NYFW beauty looks. The show was all about slicked back wavy wet hair and barefaced glass skin and natural groomed brows.

Chromat Graphic Eyeliner

As 2020 is the year of the Olympics, Chromat played on the theme using graphic bright neon winged eyeliner to mimic athletic sneaker stripes. To create the ultra bright look, two contrasting colours were used from corner to wing, then accentuated with a deep black wedge liner.
